This week the Senate is expected to vote on the Graham-Cassidy measure, the legislation to overhaul the Affordable Care Act. National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson says there are a lot of problems with the legislation and his group is asking Senators to vote against it.
He says if the Senate approves Graham-Cassidy and repeals the Affordable Care Act it will lead to the closure of more rural hospitals which farmers and ranchers rely on.
Johnson says another problem with Graham-Cassidy is that the Congressional Budget Office hasn’t scored it to determine how much it will cost.
Johnson says Congress needs to spend more time fixing ACA, rather than just throwing it out.
