National Farmers Union members are opposing the latest Renewable Fuel Standard hardship waiver granted by the EPA to a large oil and profitable refiner. President Roger Johnson says it goes against the intent of the RFS.

He says EPA’s timing in granting the plant waiver was also problematic.

Johnson says the plant waivers have set the RFS back a number of years and have caused a great deal of demand destruction for the renewable fuels industry.

Besides, Exxon, Chevron also received an RFS waiver.
