The National Farmers Union’s Policy Committee spent last week reviewing policy priorities for their upcoming convention in Santa Fe, New Mexico March 8 through the 11.  Policy Chairman Tim Velde of Granite Falls, Minnesota says they’ll be taking their recommendations for members to decide upon at the convention.

Velde says one of their primary concerns is continued support for Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling.

He says other policy priorities include support for the farm bill and raising the volume obligations under the renewable fuel standard. He says they’re also recommending opposition to Trade Promotion Authority.
