The National Biodiesel Board has renewed its request for a meeting with EPA Administrator Michael Regan. The group wants to share results of a study that first came out this spring when they made their first meeting request. NBB CEO Donnell Rehagen says the study shows the health benefits of using biodiesel versus petroleum and also fits in well with the President’s goal of addressing climate change.

He says biodiesel has multiple other benefits that go along with the health benefits.

Rehagen says besides the study they want to talk to the EPA head about the Renewable Fuel Standard and what they’re proposing for the year ahead.

Rehagen notes that the biodiesel and renewable diesel industry supports 65,000 US. jobs and more than $17 billion in economic activity each year. Biodiesel production supports approximately 13 percent of the value of each bushel of U.S soybeans.
