Senate and House leaders have reached agreement on legislation that’s been passed in the House extending the biodiesel tax credit. National Biodiesel Board CEO Donnell Rehagen says the measure extends the credit through 2022.

He says with the multi year extension called for in the legislation, that gives the biodiesel industry certainty going forward.

Rehagen says having the credit expired since 2017 has been tough on their industry and having this measure agreed to by Senate and House leaders is encouraging they’ll go forward with the legislation.

The legislation not only extends the biodiesel tax credit through 2022, it also extends the credit retroactively for 2018 and 2019. Also included in the bill is an extension of the cellulosic ethanol credit through 2020.
