National Biodiesel Board members are thanking 44 members of the House of Representatives who have asked Congressional leaders to adopt a multi year extension of the biodiesel tax incentive as soon as possible. NBB CEO Donnell Rehagen says the House members included that extension in a package that would keep the government open and avoid another shutdown.

He says the biodiesel industry has been without the tax credit for over a year and need it restored to give their biodiesel plants certainty going forward.

Rehagen says they’re leaving it up to Congressional leadership to determine just how long that multi year extension will be.

Rehagen says biodiesel producers, blenders and retailers need the credit to have the opportunity to plan and expand the market for biodiesel.
