This week, the International Trade Commission issued a unanimous ruling that confirms the U.S. biodiesel industry has been hurt by imports of biodiesel from Argentina and Indonesia. National Biodiesel Board Director and Nebraska grower Greg Anderson says his group expected that ruling and are pleased it’s been handed down. He says it affirms the damage that’s been done to U.S. biodiesel.
He says the decision will help America’s biodiesel producers and farmers.
Anderson says it’s the initial step in a lengthy process that should help pave the way for the U.S. to institute countervailing and antidumping duties against both Argentina and Indonesia.
Biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia surged by 464 percent from 2014 to 2016, taking 18.3 percentage points of market share from U.S. manufacturers.
