This week, the International Trade Commission voted 4 to 0 to support the National Biodiesel Board’s complaint of unfair dumping of biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia. Biodiesel Board CEO Donnell Rehagen says that ruling wasn’t a surprise.
He says the ruling gives the U.S. biodiesel industry certainty going forward.
Biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia surged by 464 percent from 2014 to 2016, taking 18.3 percentage points of market share from U.S. manufacturers. Rehagen says the dumping action caused all biodiesel prices to drop.
The International Trade Commission’s vote this week on injury is the last remaining procedural hurdle before final antidumping orders can be issued later this month.
