Another farm group is announcing support for passage of the Senate biotech labeling bill in the House. The National Association of Wheat Growers wants the House to pass the Senate measure this week. CEO Chandler Goule says although it’s not a perfect piece of legislation, it still needs to be approved.

He says the Senate legislation does serve to clear up any confusion consumers may have about biotech labeling.

Goule says it’s important the House act this week, before the recess, so other state biotech labeling laws like Vermont’s mandate can be avoided.

NAWG joins a long list of farm groups asking the House to move quickly on the Senate Bill.
