National Association of State Departments of Agriculture members have several issues they’re focused on this year. NASDA President and North Dakota Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring says they have seven areas they’ll be prioritizing when they meet next month that includes trade.

He says completing ratification of USMCA and ironing out an agreement with China are the most likely they’ll see progress on in the near term.

Goehring says the most challenging issue will be getting a clear pathway for U.S hemp growers.

NASDA believes it’s imperative that the Food and Drug Administration establishes consistent CBD regulation to ensure the crop has a stable market and consumers are safe.
