The National Associations of State Departments of Agriculture has adopted its five year strategic plan. NASDA President Doug Goehring, North Dakota’s Ag Commissioner says their new mission statement is to grow and enhance American Agriculture through policy, partnerships and public engagement.

He says working through partnerships is critical to be able to achieve policy victories at the federal, state and local levels for agriculture.

Goehring says one issue they were able to get a head start on prior to developing their new strategic plan was how to handle the CARES Act funding to help producers impacted by the Coronavirus.

Goehring turns over the reins of the Presidency on Friday to Kentucky’s Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles who chaired the strategic plan working group for NASDA.
