The development of an industrial rail park at Napa Junction in western Yankton County is back on track.
Toby Morris, a consultant with Dougherty and Company told the Yankton County Commission at their meeting yesterday that they have guarantees of a six million dollar loan from the South Dakota Department of Transportation for a highway to the junction………
Morris and county officials met with the state transportation commission in Pierre earlier this month.
Morris says they also have an agreement from Dakota Plains of Parkston to follow through on development at the site…………
Dakota Plains has been considering building a grain and fertilizer facility at the site for some time.
Morris says the loan from the D.O.T. is a new type of financing for a project like this………
The commission also approve a seven hundred thirty thousand dollar contract with Eisenbraun Engineering to design the new road to the junction.
