Names Released in Two Separate Fatal Accidents

A Veblen, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died early Wednesday morning in a one-vehicle crash east of Veblen.

A 2006 Chevrolet HHR SUV was westbound on South Dakota Highway 25 when it went off the roadway and rolled several times.

Conrad Dumarce, the 41-year-old male driver, was not wearing a seat belt. He was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

A Rapid City, S.D. man has been identified as the person who died Tuesday night in an one-vehicle crash east of Piedmont.

A 1997 GMC pickup was northbound on Galaxy Road near the intersection of 218th Street when the driver lost control on the snow and ice-covered road. The vehicle left the roadway and eventually rolled.

Thomas Anderson, Jr., was the 40-year-old passenger. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.

Matthew Pietz, 36, of Rapid City, S.D. He received life-threatening injuries and was taken to a Rapid City hospital. It is unknown at this time whether he was wearing a seat belt.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crashes. All information is only preliminary at this point.
