Names Released in Lincoln County Fatal Accident

A Rockwell City, Iowa man has been identified as the person who died in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon near Tea.

A 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle, pulling a motorcycle trailer, was southbound when the motorcycle’s rear tire blew out causing the driver to lose control. The two occupants were thrown from the motorcycle when it crashed. Both were transported via ambulance to a Sioux Falls hospital.

Denton Schoenbaum, the 54-year-old male driver, eventually died from his injuries. Julie Green-Woltman of Manson, Iowa, who was the 46-year-old female passenger, suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
