The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Parkston man who was killed in a three-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon two miles north of Parkston.

52 year old Paul Bader was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which was reported at 1:19 p.m. Two other people were injured.

The Highway Patrol says Bader was driving a 1998 Honda GL100SE motorcycle northbound on South Dakota Highway 37. Southbound on the same highway was a Peterbilt semi truck followed by a 2015 Buick Enclave. The Highway Patrol says the Enclave attempted to pass the semi and collided with the motorcycle and then the semi.

Two Parkston residents were in the Enclave. Walter Caldwell was the driver and Kimberly Caldwell the passenger. Both were trapped in the car and had to be extricated. Both sustained serious non-life threatening injuries.

Jason Long of Mitchell was the driver of the semi. He was not injured.

Charges are pending. The investigation continues.

Other agencies responding to the scene were the Parkston Police Department and Parkston Fire Department.
