A Mitchell, S.D. man has died as the result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Aug. 26, 2021 near Chamberlain.
Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2016 Ford Taurus was on Interstate 90 and took the 265 exit. The vehicle went into the ditch on the south side of the interstate and rolled.
Armond Oehlerking, the 87-year-old driver, was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital. He died on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021. Jeannett Carley of Mitchell, the 84-year-old passenger, sustained serious non-life threatening injuries.
Both occupants were wearing seat belts.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
