A Huron, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died in a one-vehicle crash that occurred two miles east of Mitchell.

A 2008 Chrysler Town and County Van was eastbound on 250th Street when the vehicle eventually entered the south ditch, went through a barbed wire fence and into the James River.

Authorities Wednesday morning recovered a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country Van. A short time later, the body of 22-year-old Abraham Ramos-Ramirez was found along the river’s west shore about a quarter of a mile away.

The deceased has been confirmed to be the only person in the vehicle. He had been reported to the Huron Police Department as a missing person on Saturday, March 30. The actual time and date of the crash are still under investigation.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
