An Akron, Iowa man has been identified as the person who died early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash north of Vermillion.

A 1999 Grand Jeep Cherokee was southbound on South Dakota Highway 19 when the driver lost control. The vehicle entered the east ditch.

Justin Montague, the 27-year-old driver, was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was the only person involved in the crash.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
