A 45-year-old Mitchell, S.D. man has been identified as the person who died Friday morning in a one-vehicle crash south of Groton.
A 2014 Jeep Compass was northbound on South Dakota Highway 37 when it left the roadway, entered the west ditch and rolled.
Dustin Alstadt, who was the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant and was not wearing a seat belt.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
