Name Released in Brookings County Fatal Crash

A White, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died Thursday morning in a one-vehicle crash north of White.

A 2001 Chevrolet Malibu was southbound on 478th Avenue when the vehicle left the roadway and eventually hit a tree.

Sean Blom, who was the 18-year-old driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant and was wearing a seat belt.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
