Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig spoke at the Dordt University dedication ceremonies for the new agriculture research facilities. Naig says such facilities help secure the future of Iowa agriculture. Naig says perhaps the state needs to look at how to get others interested and involved in agriculture professions. As for the Iowa harvest, Naig says the state’s farmers are wrapping up with this year’s harvest, and the yields were widely varied across the state. Naig says he has seen a good deal of baling corn stalks, fall tillage, and fertilizer applications following the harvest.
