The National Association of Conservation Districts sent a letter to President-elect Joe Biden informing him of the importance of conservation programs to all Americans and outlining the role farmers and ranchers play in protecting the environment. NACD President and Iowa farmer Tim Palmer is encouraged that one of the goals of the incoming President is to enhance conservation.

He says NACD also told the President-elect it’s critical to keep NRCS technicians on the ground working with producers to help them enhance their conservation practices.

Palmer says NACD members are looking forward to the writing of the next farm bill and that the conservation provisions in past legislation has worked well so they’d like to see that continue.

Palmer says in their letter to the President-elect they noted that it’s vital for any incoming administration to recognize the trusted conservation delivery model to best address the nation’s natural resource concerns on public and private lands.
