The National Association of Conservation Districts has joined 4 other groups in sending a letter to Congressional Appropriators asking them to fund conservation programs in the 2020 budget. NACD President Tim Palmer who farms in Iowa says they want appropriators to support conservation programs that are prioritized in the 2018 Farm Bill.
He says it’s critical appropriators fund the technical assistance that’s needed to deliver those conservation programs.
Palmer says the CSP, EQIP, RCPP, and ACEP are the four major conservation programs that must be supported by Congress.
Joining NACD in the letter to appropriators are the National Farmers Union, National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, National Wildlife Federation and the American Farmland Trust.
