The National Association of Conservation Districts has entered into an agreement with the Scotts Miracle Gro Company to help educate homeowners on water conservation. NACD President Lee McDaniel says agriculture is at the forefront of conservation and has the expertise along with private business to help landowners do their part in practicing good conservation.
He says farmers and ranchers have been implementing good conservation methods for some time. He says they have the experience and knowledge to help others enhance water quality through proper stewardship.
McDaniel says farmers often get a bad name when it comes to conservation. He says by reaching out to others and showing them how they care for the land and water it helps improve their image.
