Five Missouri Valley Football Conference schools are ranked among the nation’s Top 16 teams in both the AFCA Coaches poll and the STATS FCS top-25 poll.

North Dakota State started the 2019 season the same way it ended the 2018 season, with a win. The Bison defeated Butler by a score of 57-10 to remain perfect in its last 18 games and stay No. 1 in both polls.

James Madison, who lost to West Virginia, 20-13, received the only other first-place vote and remains at No. 2 this week in both polls.

South Dakota State, after a 28-21 loss at Minnesota, is still number three in both ratings.

After an impressive performance against Iowa State, Northern Iowa was this week’s biggest jump, improving to 12th in the coaches poll and 11th in the STATS poll.
