Less than three months away from football season, the Missouri Valley Football Conference is gaining preseason recognition for its teams and players from various college sports publications.
Five MVFC teams are ranked in the Athlon Sports pre-season Top 25 poll, led by North Dakota State (1). South Dakota State (3), Illinois State (12), Indiana State (15) and UNI (17) also are ranked.
The MVFC placed 16 student-athletes on the HERO Sports Preseason All-America Team, including six on the first-team unit.
