The South Dakota State Railroad Board earlier this year sold the MRC rail line to Watco Transportation Service, a leading short line rail company.
The line, from Mitchell to Presho, will be operated by Ringneck & Western Railroad.

Todd Yeaton, Manager of Gavillon Grain in Kimball, and former Chairman of the state Railroad Board, says it should lead to more improvements on the line…

Yeaton says it should be good for shippers on the line….

Yeaton says the sale to Ringneck & Western will ensure they keep a connection to competitive rail lines..

Watco paid the state thirteen million dollars for the rail line.
