GPAC Women’s Golf Qualifier #2 was played on Monday, in Hastings, Nebraska, at Southern Hills Golf Course with Mount Marty in the spotlight.
Mount Marty shot a 332 to take Qualifier #2 and vault to the overall team lead with a two-round total of 678. Defending GPAC Champion Dakota Wesleyan was just two strokes back (334) on the day and moved into an overall tie for second with Nebraska Wesleyan at 688. Morningside, the winner of Qualifier #1, sits in fourth place (695), while Concordia rounds out the top five with a 702.
Individually, Lauren Fitts of Dakota Wesleyan again led the field with a 76 on the day. Fitts, the reigning GPAC Champion, leads the overall field by 11 strokes. Kelsey Marshall of Nebraska Wesleyan is in second place with a 162. Mount Marty’s Logan Wagner is third (163) while teammate Kellie Winckler and Sam Beal of Nebraska Wesleyan are tied for fourth (164).
Spring GPAC Women’s Qualifiers will be hosted by Dakota Wesleyan and Concordia on dates to be announced.
The GPAC will qualify two teams for the NAIA National Golf Championships. The medalist, if not a member of the championship team, will also advance to the championships.
