Mount Marty College has announced the athletic signing of Sarah Castaneda of Bloomfield, NE, to the women’s basketball program.
Castaneda, a 5’11” Forward, put together a stellar prep career for the Bee’s under Coach Terri Mlady. She was a key member of the squad that went 17-7 last season while winning the Niobrara Verdigre Tournament and advancing to the Sub-District Finals. She averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds during her senior season, while shooting 56% from the field and 74% from the FT line. She is the all-time career leader in points scored with 1,275 and single season record holder in points with 465. Off the court Sarah has been very successful as well, she is a member of the National Honor Society, was on the A Honor Roll all four years of high school and graduated with a 3.90 GPA.
