Morningside shot a four-round total of 1163 to win the 2018-19 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Golf Championship.

The Mustangs ended with a final round 289 to win the title by 16 strokes over Northwestern. The Red Raiders were second with 1179, while Midland placed third with 1181.

Caleb Badura from Northwestern claimed medalist honors with a 72 hole total of 282 (-2).

Corey Matthey from Morningside was the runner-up medalist with a 287 (+3), while Joe Brinkman from Mount Marty was third with 288 (+4).

Morningside receives an automatic berth to the NAIA Men’s National Golf Championship in Mesa, Arizona, at the Las Sendas Golf Club. The NAIA National Men’s Golf Championships are set for May 21-24. Badura also qualifies for the NAIA Championships as the GPAC medalist.
