Morningside College, champions of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) regular season and tournament titles in 2014, is the coaches’ choice to win the 2015 GPAC softball title.

The Mustangs totaled 90 points and three first place votes in the preseason poll.

Morningside posted a 30-14 record last spring while posting a 15-5 record in the GPAC.  Concordia, runner-up at the GPAC tournament last year, is picked second with 85 points and four first place votes.  The Bulldogs posted a record of 32-16.  Midland and Northwestern were picked third and fourth with 78 and 75 points respectively and each had a pair of first place votes.
The GPAC softball season will consist of 20 games (10 doubleheaders) and conclude with the GPAC Postseason Tournament in a new format featuring two four-team tournaments (Seeds 1,4,5,8 and Seeds 2,3,6,7) (double elimination) on April 29-30 at site of the top two seeds. Then the two tournament winners will play on Saturday, May 2, in the GPAC Championship (three game series) at the highest remaining seed.

Points were assigned on a 10-1 basis and coaches could not vote for their own team.
