Morningside totaled 97 points and is the preseason coaches’ selections to win the 2014-2015 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Basketball Championship.  The Mustangs tallied seven first place votes. Concordia and Hastings tied for second with 87 points, each with a pair of first place votes.

Last season there was a four-way tie for the conference title with Concordia, Hastings, Morningside, and Northwestern all going 16-4 in the GPAC. Northwestern, picked in fourth place this year, was the GPAC tournament champion last winter.  Midland was picked fifth and Briar Cliff sixth in the early season poll.

 

Points were awarded on a 10-1 basis and coaches’ could not vote for their own team.
