The two brackets for the 2016 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Softball Tournaments completed play on Thursday.

Top seed, and regular season champion, Morningside won their bracket in Sioux City with a 3-0 record. Doane, the two seed, won their bracket with a 3-1 record.

Morningside and Doane will now meet on Saturday, May 7, at Morningside in the GPAC Softball Tournament Championship Series.  The final series will be a best two out of three format. Game one is at 11am, with game two at 1pm.  An if needed game would be played at 5pm.

Morningside has secured the league’s first berth to the NAIA Opening Round, so Doane is assured the second berth from the GPAC to the NAIA Opening Round.  Morningside won the only meeting of the two teams during the regular season in Sioux City.  Game two of that doubleheader was canceled because of rain and was not made up.
