Crest Road, that tops Gavins Point Dam across the Missouri River near Yankton has been closed several times this summer, as the Corps of Engineers does clean up and repairs to the dam.
Gavins Point Operations Manager Dave Becker says they are doing routine cleaning of the intakes to the generators….
Becker says they need to close the road so they have room for cleaning the gates……
Becker says they also are dealing with a new, invasive species causing some problems…..
Becker says the repair work should be done by the end of the month.
