More Nebraska Schools will be eligible to serve more students free meals for the 2017-18 school year.  Eric Savaiano is the Economic Justice Program Director for Nebraska Appleseed and says more than 200 schools may be able to offer all students free meals through the Community Eligibility Provision.

Savaiano says those financial issues may result in some schools hesitant about taking part in the program but the good news is more schools are eligible for assistance.

Savaiano says only fifteen of 102 schools in Nebraska are taking advantage of this program now.  He is pleased the word is spreading but they hope to see a big boost in the fall.
