More Injuries For Vikes

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Thursday, leaving his availability in question for the immediate future.

Coach Mike Zimmer says Floyd had a “cleanup” procedure to address a cartilage issue in his knee that had been causing some discomfort. Floyd missed four games last season after having a similar procedure on his left knee.

It’s the latest in a long line of injuries for the Vikings this season. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, running back Adrian Peterson and left tackle Matt Kalil are all out for the long term after needing surgeries.

Floyd was the starter alongside Linval Joseph on the interior of the Vikings defensive line. But Zimmer has been frustrated at times with his inability to stay on the field.

The Vikings (2-0) play at Carolina (1-1) on Sunday.
