A report by the South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium found there were one thousand thirty six homeless individuals in the state this year. That was a seventeen percent increase from last year.

The Housing Consortium is developing a ten year plan to end homelessness in the state, and is holding public meetings this month to get public input.
