Bills to reduce property taxes were tied to economic development plans in this year’s session of the Nebraska legislature. As a result, both proposals failed in the final days.

There is a petition drive underway to put a thirty five percent cut in property taxes on the ballot next year. Gragert says that could be an incentive for Senators to get something done in the 2020 session…..
