The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work to reconstruct Highway 50 from Gayville to Archery Lane in Yankton will begin Monday, April 17.
The work being completed includes overlaying the existing surface with a Portland cement concrete overlay, replacing the curb and gutter and placing additional surfacing on driveways and approaches. This project will tie in to the Highway 50 construction project already underway.

Gall says this project should move fairly quickly…..

This project will tie into Highway 50 construction that is underway on the east side of Yankton. Gall says they had good luck with trucks last year avoiding the first phase of the project….

There will be a 14-foot width restriction in place. Over-width and oversize traffic will need to find an alternate route while traffic is maintained in only two lanes.
