There will be a record number of watercraft inspectors this year on Minnesota lakes to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.

Adam Doll with the Department of Natural Resources says the increase means more eyes and ears in the field to help remind boaters what they can do to keep state lakes safe from invasive species. Currently, around five-percent of the state’s lakes and rivers are on the infested waters list.
