A top Monsanto official thinks China will approval additional biotech traits and products from the United States before the end of the year. Monsanto Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Robb Fraley is basing that on recent meetings between China’s President and President Barack Obama, as well as extensive talks between ag leaders from both the U.S. and China.

He says China will benefit in the long run from approving biotech products.

Fraley says next season Monsanto will be launching Round Up Ready Extend to help farmers deal with resistant and problem weeds. He’s hopeful they’ll get Chinese approval soon.
