Monsanto has several technology updates that will help farmers planting X-tend soybeans in 2018 to decrease dicamba drift. Dicamba Portfolio Lead Ryan Rubischko says they will be launching a new technology to help applicators with sprayer hygiene.
He says they’re hopeful this new deactivation tool, combined with this winter’s application education will help prevent some of the dicamba issues experienced in 2017.
Rubishko says they’re also applauding the Missouri Department of Agriculture for extending the cutoff date for spraying dicamba in the southeastern counties from June 1 to June 10 due to the late planting season. They’re hoping other states like North Dakota and Minnesota will do the same.
South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska’s cutoff for spraying dicamba under the restricted use label is when soybeans hit R1 growth stage.
