The ETC. Expo for Her in Sioux Falls was a great venue for farm groups to talk about food production to consumers. Nearly 7,000 women attend the expo where the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Auxiliary conducted cooking seminars and gave out beef samples. Shirley Thompson with the Auxiliary says it’s one of their favorite events of the year.
Common Ground volunteer Ginger Post, a dairy producer from Volga, says they also tried to clear up some of the food production myths on social media like that biotech crops are unsafe AND put a face on the product.
Post says Moms ask them a wide array of questions from the safety of biotech crops, to the difference between natural beef and beef produced from implants.
Ag United promoted their farm tours and upcoming Poultry Crawl in Sioux Falls at the Expo. Plus, the South Dakota Pork Producers Council handed out pork chili samples, recipes and promoted the great value of pork.
