An estimated 700 people attended the June Dairy Month Open House Saturday at MoDak Dairy of Goodwin, South Dakota. Ag United President Richard Vasgaard says this was just one of the many events they’re hosting during June to help consumers see how the milk and dairy products they eat every day are produced. He says it was a very successful event.
Tour participants got to see what the cows eat, how they’re cared for and how the cows are milked. Vasgaard says the take home for consumers is that farmers do care about their livestock and how food is produced.
Another June Dairy Month tour is scheduled for June 30th at Cottonwood Ridge Dairy near Garretson.
