A predator problem in Minnesota is growing and funding for the state’s wolf trapping program has been depleted. Minnesota Cattlemen’s Association President Krist Wollum says that’s a major problem for livestock producers as that’s the only method they can use to control the wolves.

He says the numbers of wolves have been increasing and are moving into new territory.

Wollum says his group is hoping a special funding allotment will be granted by the state to help them handle these predators.

Wollum says without a special funding allotment, producers would have to wait until the legislative session that doesn’t get underway until February and for many producers that will be too late.
