Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton had indicated he would be open to calling a special state legislative session following the election to deal with the health insurance crisis in the state. State Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap says the problem has become so massive, it’s imperative the state legislature immediately find a solution.
He says the cost of health insurance for Minnesota farmers and ranchers has skyrocketed, making it unaffordable.
Paap says the agriculture isn’t the only sector of the economy in the state feeling the pain of the health insurance crisis.
Governor Dayton said if he does call a special session he wants it to focus solely on health care and none of the leftover issues from the last regular session.
