Minnesota Milk Producers Association President Pat met with state lawmakers recently to discuss his group’s legislative priorities. He says the most pressing need for dairy producers is for the state to take steps to grow the milk processing industry in Minnesota.

He says the potential for growth in Minnesota’s dairy processing sector is directly proportional to the investment in Minnesota’s infrastructure.

Lunemann says there needs to be tax and other benefits given to milk processing companies to incentivize them to build and expand in the state.

Lunemann says it’s also important to have uniform weight restrictions on agricultural vehicles and to bring them into some type of uniformity with other regulations in other states.
