The Minnesota House has approved an Agriculture, Environment and Jobs bill by a 72 to 54 vote. State Corn Grower’s Policy Director Anna Boroff says the measure calls for $12 million in new spending, with funding for other programs shifted to help pay for the omnibus bill.
She says the House has some differences to work out with the Senate, as they consider their own omnibus spending bill.
Boroff says their top priority, property tax relief, has yet to be ironed out along with a transportation bill. She says lawmakers are running out of time to pass those measures, but thinks they will come to an agreement on a conferenced Ag, Environment and Jobs Bill.
Minnesota legislators are required by law to complete their session by the end of May.
