Minnesota Farmers Union welcomed the passage of two measures they supported in the state legislature last week and are hoping to finish the session with additional wins. Government Relations Director Thom Petersen says legislation clarifying the buffer law unanimously passed the Minnesota Senate. The buffer bill is expected to be heard in the House this week and has the support of the Governor.

He says they’re also pleased the House approved $250,000 for a program to install roll bars in older tractors.

Petersen says in the next two weeks lawmakers are also expected to debate the budget, taxes, transportation and broadband legislation.

Petersen says last week, the Minnesota House additionally approved a measure providing some funding for a Veterinary Diagnostic Lab.
