The Minnesota Corn Growers Association has been meeting with their members updating them about the newly passed Buffer Zone law. Public Policy Director Anna Boroff says they’ve received many questions on the new requirement and some of the specific details have yet to come out.

Boroff says the compromise worked out on the Buffer Zone law is different than the 50-foot setback originally pushed by Governor Dayton.

She says some members were also inquiring about legal action to halt the rule.

Boroff says the new law does involved a 50-foot buffer on public waterways. She recommends producers work with their local soil conservation service if they have any questions.
